Little Things

These last couple of weeks have been pretty busy and they will only continue to get busier, with the holidays and prepping for our baby!
It seems like we have forever until our little d comes but we really don't have that long. We're just shy of the half way point and we're stoked at all of the new things we have been experiencing.

October 1, 2016 (17 weeks): This was the day Wes got to feel baby kick for the first time and pretty hard!
We spent the day at the Gilbert Art walk. Wes has his company True Craft Board Co and we got to sell his longboards, shirt and get custom orders from people that were walking by. It brings me a lot of joy to see him in his element, to see all the hard work he is doing, to see the talent, to see how people love his work and to see how he lights up by people's reactions to his work and creativity. He truly has a gift for hard work, talent and creativity. We spent all day in the heat selling, meeting new people and getting ideas for things we could do for when we go back to the Gilbert Art walk tomorrow! (Come see us there!!) Anyways, we were super busy all day! So we came home later that day to finally rest. We watched General Conference and took a nap. Later that night we were laying in bed and she just kept kicking and moving around on my right side (that seems to be her favorite side) so I put Wes' hand right where she was kicking and his face lit up because he felt her kick too. She seriously moves and kicks all the time! It seems to be mostly at night when I'm laying in bed. I probably notice it because I'm just laying there but I can actually feel them from the outside of my belly too which is the coolest feeling ever.
Becoming a parent is already a joy and I am really excited to keep experiencing more!

Wes doing his thing at the Gilbert Art walk! Come see us October 15th (tomorrow)!! We have some cool new products and are doing an awesome give away with Arvo that you don't want to miss out on!

About two weeks ago, the Boyd family asked if I would take their family pictures. I said yes but I had never done that before so I was super nervous! Most of them actually turned out somewhat decent and I had a lot of fun doing it! Wes came and helped me so that was super fun too!

Pregnancy so far for me: Wes asked me the other day if I like being pregnant. It always used to bother me when women would complain about pregnancy or that they hated it because I wanted to be pregnant and have a baby so badly. I now realize that it's different for everyone. My answer to him was that I love being pregnant, it might not always be super glamorous and there are a lot of struggles with it but I love that I get the chance to carry my baby. I love feeling her move and knowing that she is part of me and is part of Wes. I love knowing that I get to take care of her and love her just as I already do. I love that I get to try to make her current home in my belly a happy and healthy one. Those are the reasons that I love pregnancy. Now with that being said, pregnancy is also sometimes a struggle for me. Sleeping is awful. It takes me a long time to fall asleep and even when I do, I wake up countless times usually because I am so uncomfortable. Before I was pregnant I already drank a ton (of water and soda) and now that is more than tripled because I am always thirsty which also means I always have to pee. Last night for example, I went to the bathroom and then walked back to my room. As soon as I sat down I had to go pee again.. Sometimes it gets annoying especially at work but it's something I can deal with for sure! I am also starting to experience some back pain when I stand up, sometimes I get up and I can't walk and have to grab things to help me, it's probably pretty funny to watch! I also still struggle with foods, sometimes I'm so ravenously hungry and other times food seems like the worst things I've ever heard of. The biggest challenge with pregnancy so far are my bowels, I won't go into detail but basically I always have the runs, it sucks!

My aunt gave me this pregnancy pillow that has helped with sleeping a lot! I basically just wrap my legs and arms around it and it supports my belly which is awesome!! Greatest gift I have received!!

Wes and I have been married for a little over 9 months now!! Still not super long but it's amazing all you can accomplish together in that amount of time. We've travelled across the U.S. to Hawaii then to New York and other states here and there. We've experienced loss and trials. We've experienced the greatest joy, being blessed with a child! We've learned better how we both work and what we both need. I've almost burnt the apartment down learning how to cook and he was there for me to put it out (came running out of the shower and used to fire extinguisher to put the fire out, all while being naked hahaha). We've had to learn about our very different families. How to get along with them, combine them and make everyone feel included. We have learned the value of good friendship in our marriage and friendship with others. We have learned that we wanted a dog but that it's not practical until we move into a house. We have learned that we both have a love for the outdoors and that we're our best selves outside and on trips. We have learned our love languages, how we give love best and how we receive it the best, which has helped us understand and love each other better.
All these things we have learned in 9 months time, I can't wait to see what we will have learned when we have been married for 10, 20, and 30 years!

I took my first trip without Wes, while being married. It was just a work trip and I was only gone for two days. He has left me a couple of different times and I hated those times. I didn't like leaving him either, it was weird that I was the one that was gone and even though I was excited to spend some time by the beach, those things just aren't the same without the one that you love! (I need to remember that for next time).

Baby's first time at the beach!

I love plants! and gardens! I think Wes has started to love them too. We planted a little garden a couple weeks ago in the planters that we built months ago. First we planted flowers in the long planter, then a tomato plant in the deep, huge planter and then this week I added parsley, sage and oregano with the tomato plant! I can't wait until we have a house in the next couple of years so I can have a huge garden!

I love Trader Joes and Sprouts and these little cuties caught my eye! I like starting things from very little and watching them grow, developing into either fruit, veggies or just into more matured plants.
