One Month with Indy

Becoming Indy's mom is the most heavenly role I could have in this life. It is also the most challenging and the most rewarding job. Becoming a mother is something no one can really prepare you for. It's a lot of learning, a lot of trial and error, a lot of late nights (some all nighters hehe), so much love, so much joy, many tears, many outfit changes, lots of walking and many more things. But of all things, it is THE BEST thing.

Indy is ONE MONTH old today!! It's true what people say, that time really does go way too quickly, it's actually kind of sad. I love watching her grow but it also makes me super sad at the same time. Some days I wish she could stay this little forever. She's so much fun and she's seriously my best little buddy.

We went to her check up on Monday and Indy now weighs 8 lbs 13 oz, almost 9 pounds!! and she's 22 in long (she's in the 92nd percentile for height, she's so tall!!). So far she's been a pretty fussy baby, constantly screams all day long and fights sleep like crazy. Her pediatrician gave us a prescription to try and it's made a world of a difference, most days!

She looks so teeny tiny on that table haha she's so cute!! (her second doctors appointment)
Stats: weight: 8 lbs 13 oz (50th percentile)
height: 22 inches (92nd percentile)
head circumference: 14 3/4 (87th percentile- she has a big head!!)

Indy constantly smiles in her sleep, especially if she ate really well right before. She also gives us some pretty good frowns and they're actually really funny! She makes a lot of cute little sounds in her sleep, grunts at us a lot, kicks her legs at me when she's mad, gets the hiccups a lot and HATES it, and she spits up a lot. She doesn't have a middle name but we like to call her Indy Lou like Cindy Lou Who from the grinch!

Haha we LOVE her hair!!!

She's a mouth breather just like Wes and I :)

Grunt city over here haha

First time in a swimsuit, it was too big but so so cute!

Indy loves: to be outside, to go on walks in mommy's solly wrap, to be held by her dad on his chest, is starting to like baths until the end, when I bounce on the exercise ball with her, her hair combed, she LOVES her room it's the cutest thing, lights, her mom, country music calms her down (probably because that's what I listened to her in the womb), to eat ALL DAY LONG haha, laying on her mom's chest, when we sing made up songs to her, when her dad talks to her in a grown up voice, tummy time, being swaddled most of the time, she loves to have her hands free, likes to be nakey, likes her back tickled

At Discovery Park, we love that park because it has a great view of the Gilbert Temple

Always lovin' life in the wrap!

These two, always taking naps together :)

Indy dislikes: her hair being washed, dirty diapers, being inconvenienced in any way, sometimes she's scared of the dark, her car seat, sometimes sleeping, when she gets gassy

Right after her first bath (she likes being bundled up after her bath but hates the actual bath part)

Parents love: giving her tons of kisses all day long, talking to her in super annoying voices to get reactions out of her, we die laughing when she toots because they are so so loud haha, when she makes cute little whimper noises in her sleep and when she eats, when she snuggles with us, when she searches for food like a hungry little baby bird (she gets so frustrated but it's so cute), getting to hang out with her all day, putting cute outfits and bows on her, her HAIR, her big cheeks!!

Our first big outing was to the Phoenix Zoo!

On our walk around the Mesa Temple grounds

Saguaro Lake

The Gilbert Riparian

Snuggle buddies :)

I wish she was this tiny again!! She's already grown so much!
We got our birth video back this week and we LOVED it!! It was the most special day and I'm so happy we have this video to give to her some day and to watch and remember that special day!
